Aefw's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After noticing that my green milli wasn't extending polyps on the underside as well as it once was, I decided to do a pro cure dip. This 3" frag had about 10 flatworms on it. After removing the milli from the tank i could see the classic bite marks on the shaded part of the coral. It would have been impossible to see these marks the way it was mounted in the tank.

Just a reminder to keep an eye out for the subtle changes in your corals. It could be AWFW.



Luckily this is only a nano and it was wasy to dip my whole tank.
Here is the milli before the dip. That small light spot under the upper most branch had about 4-5 fw's on it.

nice milli make sure when u dip the coral theres no little acro crab in it.the dip will kill it

Tommy you will usually only see acro crabs in wild colonies.

Glad u caught it b4 it spread all over your nano. Damn these aefw!!!!
Besides the polyp extensions is anything else I can look for as warning signs. These aefw get me paranoid.

At least its treatable and you caught it early. The tank is fairly new too.

the acro crabs only come on wild caught colonies but they do move from coral to coral.so if lfs has a mix of wild caught pieces and propagated pieces u could get one in any coral.i have many in my tank

I have corals from 12 different people in here Not naming names but I can tell you that most guys with established SPS tank do have them. It's just one of those things. AEFW are very common in our reefs. I wonder how the situation is in the wild? Ming your stuff was clean
