Anemone/Clownfish

Why isn't my red saddleback clownfish hosting with my saddleback anemone (thanks to BikiniSalt who gave it to me for free ) ?

Yea it's a red saddleback clownfish and a saddleback anemone

you got pic's ? are the clowns black and white ? and do you mean a sabea anenome ?

Sometimes they host, sometimes they don't.
It can take some time before they decide as well.


What worked for me 1 time, is placing both the clown & the anemone is a breeder box. In 3 days time, he wouldn't leave it alone.

its not written in stone that they WILL host just because theres a anenome in the tank

Anemone

The saddle anemone is a carpet anemone with short tentacles often named the Haddoni.

Saddle clowns are Amphr. Polymnus..

Saddle clowns are known to beat up their anemone pretty good. So watch them and give it some time and they will host.

Clowns only need to host anemones when they feel threatened. Consider it good when they dont host cause they feel more comfortable. They dont need to rely on the anemone for shelter or food thats what you are for.

The black and white saddleback clowns should host it. All of mine saddlebacks always host the anenome I gave you. The red saddleback is not going to host it.

Took my tomato clown over a month til it hosted my gbta. Takes time.

Alright thanks for all the replies and comments guys. I'll try to get a different saddleback BikiniSalt and thanks again for the anemone, it's doing great
