How long is acceptable to wait for a response from someone interested in an item before chaulking it up to they aren't taking it?

Knowing there are different variables involved in each situation this is kind of an open ended question... but what does MR think?

IMO... I would say they should respond to your PM within 24 hrs, if they PM'ed you stating they are interested. You can always post stating person x has x time to get back to you or you will entertain other offers...

If a person pm's me about something that I am selling and I pm back and they don't respond within 12 hours, I go to the next pm, that simple, but most of the time I work on a first come, first serve basis and will only hold something if I have dealt with that person before or is a friend. There are to many flakes that change their mind, don't show up or don't have the money and/or trying to get something that is worth $100 for $10. Just my 2 cents...

For as long as the seller is willing to wait. If no response by then, leave them "NEUTRAL" feedback and move on to the next person in line.
