Question regarding CF and T5

I have an outer orbit unit in the link below.

Would I be able to switch out the CF to a T5 bulb or would I need to change any ballast and switch it to a T5 ballast and connector ?

Or would the ballast used for CF work on a T5 bulb ?

Yes, but you need to rewire with new endcaps and the bulb that the ballast is rated for might not fit in the fixture anymore.

The highest T5 wattage is 80W for a 5 feet long bulb
There are 96W bulbs for PC which are 3 feet long

The difference is in the reflector where its easier to reflect off a straight bulb where PC bulbs shine a good % of the light on the other bulb
