bristle worm...

OK. So I have them... See one walking around the rock last night after lights out. Was thinking about hunting them down and removing them, but after reading this post, not sure. They don't bother me.

Do "YOU" remove them when you see them? If so, why?

Bristleworms are great detritus removers and don't harm your tank. Let 'em live!
Just don't touch them!

Yes they will eat sick or dying animals. Mostly they eat detrius.

I always heard people complain that "the bristle worm ate this/that/and the other thing" ? So the only thing they are dangerous to is humans, if we touch them?

THey are beneficial unless they take over the tank but at that point you simply have another problem that fuels their spread. STOP FEEDING NOW!!!!

If they overrun your tank you can get a Arrow head crab!
They look like spider's of the sea. They get a bad rap but i have one and enjoy its work with bristle.
They can get big if they are males.

They are fine crabs that will eat worms. Just remember that your feather dusters are worms too; those will be gone as well.

And when they start over running your tank and you go in there to do some redecorating and touch one, thats a problem :Yikes: !

It would be great to let them live , but they can cause more harm than good ?
