Forget green star polyps, and forget Xenia, shrooms or any of the other corals that are we are warned for becoming weed like. The Kenya tree is the ultimate. I got one 3inch piece about 2 months ago, now I would say I have some 20 1"+ trees all over my tank. ITS TAKING OVER!!!!

Now its not too bad, but at this pace it will take over the whole tank

If it likes your tank, and there isn't many tanks it doesn't like, it will take over in a very short time.

my lighting is one 250 MH 20k and 2 65 PC actinic.

I was adding ESV B-ionic 2 part, but not testing calcium regularly and realized my calcium was over 500 (hmmm could that be the reason).

Besides that just religous weekly 10% changes and a powerful skimmer. Nothing special, It could just be a realy aggressive kenya tree species

LoL I've had a piece that's stayed at aout 1inch for about the past year thank god. Reason could be that i had it buried in the sand for about a half a year:theyareon

It lived through that so i gave it some light and now its got an extra branch but still just 1 inch.

I was my first coral when I started and I didn't know any better and it has been the hardest to get rid of and I've given up. It was easier to get rid of Majano , aiptasia , and pulsing xenia.

Ill post pics tommorow, The lights are off and there all shriveled up.

Overall its not that impressive to see its just that Ive never seen a coral spit off little frags and them grow with such tenacity all over, not just splitting form original coral, they are literally on opposite sides of the tank

Among most of my friends only one has this problem-hence i am selling his frags lol. Everyone else has a solid large tree with the largest one I have seen 1 foot tall. No spawning. I guess those who has this issue must have systems that varies in conditions from time to time that the coral decide to drop off to try spawn further away.

I once went to buy some corals from a member that getting out of the hobby and he was offering some frags for free. When I noticed it all over his tank I thought to myself is this guy freakin nuts.
The ultimate weed is Bryopsis by the way:biglaugh:

My kenya tree used to drop babies everywhere in my tank. I just ripped the babies out and put them in the fuge and then give them away free to anyone who came over and had a reef tank. I have since ripped it out of the display and stuck in my aquapod, but still find a small baby growing out of cracks every now and then 4 months later, lol
