I am contemplating mostly a sps tank. My question is, I?m limited to a 24? wide tank and came up with 3 options in a descending order:

24?x24?x20? = 50 gal.
24?x24?x18? = 45 gal.
24?x20?x18? = 37.5 gal.

Lighting will be AM 24? 250 watt 14000k w/ t5
Skimmer ? not determined.

Any thoughts?
thanks

I agree 24" is small, but what about a 24" cube? that would be neat.
you could have one pile of rocks in the middle and limit yourself to just a few coral (if that's possible) If I did this I would get the coolest coral I could find and have it like an sps specimen tank. I think it would look great. keeping the top off regulated would be critical, as you know ;) If you could have an equal size tank as a sump that would increase the stability quite a bit.
This seems to be the month for new tanks being put together and planned. I've not seen so many new tank threads here before.

Thanks for all your input!

I guess I will have to rethink the size of the tank. As Jonathan knows my current tank is a 20 w/o a sump but for the sps I do plan on have one. 24 cube sounds promising.

zahner - I did check out the oceanic but decided against it cause the bottom of the tank is tempered glass. nice tank tho.

spykes - will check into your size.

thanks again.

yup, suppose i'm biased since i have a 30 cube. i agree the tempered bottom is a pita, gonna drill mine in the back panel and install an overflow box. i have similar space constraints and was thinking about a custom tank too, but got this one used for a decent price.
