I REALLY like their tanks but their electrical components leave me more than underwhelmed. I've never used their heaters but their T5 fixtures and pumps are crapola. That has always kept me away from their heaters.
i been using aquamedic titanium heating elements plugged to my RK2....i believe they have 1000w ones...
it have been working fine for 5 months now....i have the finnex titanium heater and that crapped out on me in about half a year...
I hate all heaters. All of them. For such a simple device, they all suck.
My first finnex, died. granted I bought it second hand. Since I had no idea how old it was, I figured it just reached the end of its life and got another one.
My second finnex, 800 watts. Died within 30 days. I just sent it back to them, before the warranty expired, and am awaiting its return.
In each case it was the metal tube that died, and not the controller.
I like the Ebo Jager heater they are very well made but one note is that they are not fully submersible. I have mine for 6 yrs and still running. Knock on wood.
