10:00 AM: Mother comes screaming into my bedroom: "Jawwad! Jawwad! Dori is going to Die!
Jawwad: What?!! Leave me alone!
Mother: There is water all over the dining Room!
Jawwad: Oh S**T!!!!!!

10:15 AM: The spray bar which was coming into the from the sump/fuge had slipped out of place, which was being held by 3 suction cups. There was about 7 gallons of water in the dining room, dining table and tank stand.

10:30 AM: THE AFTERMATH: Realized that the water hit my labtop which was sitting on top of my dining table, important college documents, and my mothers designer purse. From all of this stuff, the fact that my pumps were running dry for about 2 hours hurt me the most, lol.

11:00 AM: Just got enough RO water to make about 8 gallons of water.

I am really gettin tired of this damn spray bar, is there anything else that I can use which will distribute the water back into my tank and stay in place?

Sorry to hear that, is the spray bar attached to the return from the sump/refug? If that what happen I would change it to a u-tube return like on a magnum. That way it's lock over the side of the tank.

Would any of you know if saltwater will damage carpeted floors? The carpet is really thick. If it does, what should I do? I already let it dry up, sprayed some carpet cleaner on it and vacuumed it up. I just dont want any salt residue on my carpet, pops gonna go nuts if it messes up his precious carpet lol.

i have carpets as well ,get water on them all the time .it may leave a white film from the salt but use a vacuum it should pick it up ,if not a damp cloth will help ...at worst you use a small carpet cleaner ,but you should have no damages at all from it ,

You guys should look at the carpet padding and wood sub floor where you spilled the water repeatedly; I bet you have moles growing under there. Try to put some plastic drop cloth down when you are working on the tank. You don?t want your parents to find out what your water spills are doing to their house.

I agree with cali_reef, if you've spilled water on the carpet continuously the wood floor underneath is going to be trashed. if it's just a plywood subfloor, then no big deal, except for possible mold which can have serious health consequences for some people. if you have any reason to believe there may be mold growing under your carpets you need to take care of that asap.
if there is a nice hardwood floor under the carpet you can kiss the finish goodbye.
you better not be living at home when that carpet gets taken up ;)
