Keeping live rock live

i took some live rock out of my tank and put it in a pail with a koralia circulating the (salted) water. does the water need to be heated as well.
the temperature of the water is 72 degrees.

what are you trying to do with it? cure it? transfer it to another tank? is it from an established tank?

it is live rock from an established tank. i want to keep it live and prevent
any dying off. i can put the rock into the refugium but i'd rather keep it in the pail until i set up another tank and use the rock there

if the temp gets to cold there will be die off so if u have a heater lieing around you should put it in..

I don't think 72 degrees is that bad, and it's probably not going to get any colder since summer should be approaching soon. you just have to remember to feed the bucket every so often if it's going to be there for a while.

do you mean fee it with "phyto" or something else?

No just things like flake food and such will do. anything that will rot really.
