Chiller temps

Have it set on 78 but my tank reads 72.It's one of those Coralife digital termometer.I'm thinking the sump temps are much higher than the main display temps.What should I do,compensate and set it higher?

A reading is wrong somewhere. 6 degrees is way beyond a functional thermometer's accuracy range.

Same problem happened to me. I thought my chiller was not working but it was the
thermometer. After a while they should be replaced.

I use 2 thermometers. If they read the same, the temp reading should be correct. For a few extra bucks, it gives me peace of mind

Well, the chiller is brand new so it can't be the chiller and the fish and coral seem fine and not stressed by the temps.
