How often do you add water on your tank?

Hello All,
This is my first time having a tank on an oncoming hot weather and I just noticed that I've been adding almost a gallon of water on my tank every 4-5 days. I have no leaks or anything. Is this normal evaporation for a 30 gallon tank?

I add almost a gallon every 2 days on my 46g to make sure my preskimmer doesn't run dry and cause my pump to go nuts.

also, i second the getting an ato. its awesome. and it lets you take vacations.

You guys that live in humid areas know nothing of evaporation...:p
I live in the central valley of California <--Dry. I have a 65g that uses
2g a day in the winter, and has been running about 5g a day with the
fan on/off. We haven't really had any hot weather yet, so I am kind of
interested to see just how much I can evaporate.

I would not be able to do it without an ATO.

Reservoir is 50 gallons... I make water constantly, I keep it full...
When you finds a ATO that doesn't leak please let me know...

what do you mean by leak? i'm using a jbj ato and it works fine. no mishaps <knock on wood> bought it used, cheap, and in great condition
