Can liner good for RO?

The rubbermaid can I was using to store RO/DI sprung a small leak somwhere that I can't find. Rather than buying a new can, which might have the same problem anyways, can I just put a trashcan liner in the can and then fill it with the RO/DI for storage ?

If the liners are not approved for water or food storage I wouldn't risk it. Most trasn bags are recycled from god knows what.

buy a new trashcan and use the old one for trash.

Xoomer has it right, most bags aren't safe for food storage, so I wouldn't use it for my tank, either.

Most garbage cans aren't either, so make sure the new can is a BRUTE rubbermaid trash can. They're much more durable then some other ones, and is food safe.

^^^ Yeah BRUTE goes without saying. Sturdy as hell and it comes with so many size 20,30,42,55...

another plus with a brute is you can get the dolly made for it that locks to the bottom

That doesn't sound like a very good idea to me, unless you aren't too worried about a flood.

If you have a smooth floor and aren't hauling 40-50 gallons over thresholds, you should be fine.
