Yes, I had one on my first reef tank and they work ok as long as you don't get any sand caught up in them. They have tiny little gears inside and a single grain of sand will stop it from working properly. If you chose to use a SCWD just be sure you have it installed so that you can remove it easily and periodically clean it out ;)

They are more effective on smaller tanks and although there are more intricate items available now, they are much more costly than a SCWD!

i've been using this almost two years and still running. some people say it break easy. it's only $40, you can give it a try.

I'am setting up a 40 gal with a 10 gal sump where I am putting the tank it will be hard to get to after I put in in place was thinking in the over flow chamber, what are the better options that i can use?
