Does this work as they say it does?? do they break down?? would you recomend this??

Yes, I had one on my first reef tank and they work ok as long as you don't get any sand caught up in them. They have tiny little gears inside and a single grain of sand will stop it from working properly. If you chose to use a SCWD just be sure you have it installed so that you can remove it easily and periodically clean it out

They are more effective on smaller tanks and although there are more intricate items available now, they are much more costly than a SCWD!

Please remind us what size tank you are planning ?

i've been using this almost two years and still running. some people say it break easy. it's only $40, you can give it a try.

I'am setting up a 40 gal with a 10 gal sump where I am putting the tank it will be hard to get to after I put in in place was thinking in the over flow chamber, what are the better options that i can use?
