So, I went to New World today to get some inverts for my tank and really wanted a little bit of everything. The guy there warned me against Stars being compatible with Clams in particular. They had some nice small Red Linkias and I was also considering getting a Brittle, but he said if I ever wanted to get a Clam (which I do) it might be at risk from a Star. Just wondering what others knew about this?? I know some Stars are, in fact, predatory.....

I have heard that Green Serpent Stars are very agressive, more than the others. But never heard anything about Linkias, so I wondered. I also know that Linkias in general are very hard to take care of (especially the Blue ones) - they very rarely take to prepared foods. But they are sure pertttty!!!

Are these the ones you find in your filter all the time? How fast do they spawn and can that become a problem? (I suppose one could get a Harlekin Shrimp to eat them.) I saw one tiny white star on my glass yesterday; it must have come on one of the live rocks I put into the new tank. If they stir up the sand and eat detritus...good! Are the ones you have more than brittle stars or do they have smooth bodies? (The one I saw in my tank did.)
