I picked up a used 12 gallon AP the watts on the lights were 27 watters I had spare 32 watters pop them in and they worked I'm I going to cause trouble down the line :sgrin:

I would not exceed the max wattage recommended by the manufacturer. If you do you may cause a fire.

I'm over driving the by 5 watts think it's to much Chief

check what wattage the ballast is rated for.

One of two things will or might happen, you will kill the ballast and lights by overdriving them, second you will burn down your tank, maybe your house too. Its never a good idea to run bulbs higher than the ballast rating.

I know that model had a recall because it was starting fires. SO be careful with it. Im not sure when you got it. or if you bought this tank used but make sure it has the numbers under the hood if it doesnt DONT USE it.

Did you buy this tank from another member? If so ask them when and where they bought the tank.

Kill the top and get one of those Vipers.MH lighting.
