so i got the phosban reactor 150 and started using it today. however the media stays at the bottom of the reactor. is this normal? if not how do i make sure the media tumbles? i have the flow set to about 30 gph as per the instructions.

thanks,

Don't shake it!
The media is not supposed to move around with the exception on the top 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch and that should gently tumble.
More movement than gently tumbling and you will be crushing the particles and allowing them to get into your tank..and that is bad.

When you first fill the chamber, a good portion of the media may rise up the chamber and a slight shake will help it fall to the bottom where you want it.

After that, it should only have a slight tumble on the surface of the media.

Good Luck!

Just enough wobbling to get it to tumble...

Actually, the worse problem I had with mine was it filling with algae because it was too close to my light on my 'fuge.

Other than that, seems to work fine. I never touch it.
