My tank is about 2 weeks old I moved from my 24gal to my 40 gal I reused about 1/2 the live rock and bought more rock and cured it to fill the tank.

The question I have Is the first week my skimmer was filling on daily, now it looks like I only get about 1/2 a inch of gook in there a day, It looks like there is still bubbles in the bottom, (I dont know the name Of the skimmer It came with the tank) Is this normal for it to slow down Is the tank just cleaner or is there somthing I need to check and mataine on it?

New to the whole sump refugum skimmer thing!

Thanks

Pull the skimmer pump and check it for blockages. Also take a look at where the air enters the pump and make sure there is nothing blocking that as well.

Or take a pump out, put it in some vinegar/water solution and let it run for a few hours in that. Then if you see any extra nonsense an old toothbrush makes a fine cleaning instrument.

Has your tank cycled?

Once all the die off is off the rock, it is not uncommon for skimmate production to slow down.

I would say thats correct. Skimmer production will increase when adding live rock (even so-called curred) and then decrease after die-off is complete.

Just follow NaCl-H2O to make sure everything is running corectly.
