In an established tank, quite easy. In a new tank, nearly impossible unless you have a load of pods stashed away somewhere. Or it eats the suff you throw into the tank - unusual and unlikely though

The MGs are great fish. Beautiful and graceful... I think I paid $15 each for mine.

I had two (green and purple)... but one has passed. the other is a little over a year old and has been official named "toady" by my 3 yr old daughter!

I got one from joseney21, it was not doing well in his tank, no pods to eat.
we named him jose. now jose looks like he's going to burst, he's gotten fat and has grown quite a bit. if you have the right conditions the fish will do well, if not it will starve to death and that sucks. I feel bad whenever I see them in the stores they are always skin and bones and I know most of them will die. so on that cheery note I'll wish you good luck with yours. you can buy the amipods it eats and seed your tank with them. if you need the link I'm sure someone can find it for you. Dean? ;)

yes that was it, thanks.

the last frag swap people did a group buy, but I would not wait that long one month without food and the mandarin won't make it :(

The bottles of seapods are great as long as you have a relatively fresh one. If you see one in a LFS you can hold a light to the bottle and see them clustering. If you get it online it is a hit or miss. The manufacturer does not put dates on the bottles so as a consumer you cant tell immediately how old the bottles are. But they do put a serial number on it and you are able to call the manufacturer to get info on production dates etc. Stupid; but thats the way they decided to go..... Good stuff though to put into a fuge that is gravity fed into the main tank.
