Frag Swap Extraveganza

Before I get into the details of the day, first let me thank [JWS]Wasabi for hosting the event at his loft office in Little Italy - the room we were in was really nice and really made for a nice event - JW, next time we will pick up the pizza - nice of you to get that for the membership. Thanks again!

In addition, special thanks to SOLBBY and JOS who donated corals to the cause - Also, special thanks to ISLEFAN and MIKEYFINGERS for making cash donations.

OK, so, frags were had for sure - for those of you who missed out, there were about 60 frag bags laid out on the table and once the actual auction was over - it was a feeding frenzy!! The auction took in a total of $200 in donations for the site - I think that is an awesome start!! I can't wait to do this again sometime in October? Anyone??

So, here is what you missed - Red, Blue, Pink and assorted colored Zoos, Blue, red and green shrooms, anthelia, white and red sea zenia elongata, poccilopora, green monti plate, green monti plate with purple rim (come on guys, you know that coral was awesome) purple and orange fungi plate, ORA digitata with violet polyps, green and orange digitata, orange ricordias with blue centers, green rics and so many more - it was like dropping cyclopeeze into your tank for the first time

As we continue to do this, I am glad that we get a chance to meet such nice people who care enough about captive reef keeping not to rip each other off - the beauty of doing an auction is that some really nice corals went for $10 and some for $25 - nothing to break anyones piggy bank (except for the ticket, sorry about that Dreko).

Again, thanks to everyone for helping out, offering up ideas on where/how to do the event. And, of course, ultimately TRANA will be grateful for the additional funds to help keep this site as awesome as it is.

The meeting was great and I came home with some awesome pieces. A big thanks to [JWS]Wasabi for hosting and House for arranging things. And another big thanks to SOLBBY, JOS and House for being so generous.

I just took some shots with my digi and underwater housing. Ill start a new thread for that in a moment.

It was great meeting you all. It is so nice to know that NYC has an active community of reefers. I hope that we can do it all again soon.
