How long will phosphate media last I up graded from my nano to a 40 gal cube I just about 20lbs of live rock from my old tank and bought about 20 more I cured the rock, I added a 2 little fishies reactor with roha , I am getting allergy and bubbles in the sand, I will admit I have been alittle heavy handed with the food.... I have done water changes, How much phosphate media should be in there I put the whole small jar of roah it about three inches worth of media is that enought is the tank just going throught a cycle with the new rock? do I need to add more media? I know to cut down on food, should I vac the sand when I do a water change? I want to nip this in the butt before I get hair allergy!

Thank

It is very hard to tell how long phosphate media will last, especially when you first start using it. I tend to change out my media when I notice that the algae is accumulating on my front glass faster than normal. This tells me that phosphates are increasing.

When you first start using it, you go through it alot faster than you will farther down the road. You need to catch up, by removing all the phosphates that have built up in the system.
