RSVP: August 3rd Swap/Picnic in Central Park

Come and join us for a swap in Central Park!

We will be meeting just South of the Summerstage area (the Bandshell), look for the Manhattan Reefs sign on the grass.

There is no admission for this event, we are just going to be sitting on the grass, enjoying the music and swapping some frags. Rain or Shine.

It is strictly Bring Your Own, food, drink, whatever.

Awesome idea! This is great to sell or trade things all in one place like a co-op yard sale. I'm totally in. Maybe we could even get an appearance by some friendly venders. I'll start saving now.

Since I'm new in this forum and this might/could be my first swap event, I was just wondering if...
a) Is there an invite for this or is it for whomever can/will go within the MR community?
b) Can you sell/buy corals or is it strictly trading (i.e. I bring my corals and you bring yours and we switch) kinda thing?

That's all. If the answer to A is anyone can go and to B is yes, you can sell and buy from other reefers...then I hope and am looking forward to meeting some of you pros in this hobby and maybe learn a thing or two...or go home with a thing or two.

Salty..I'd think more of a get together than an official swap especially since the forecast is for a high of about 88 degrees on Sunday.
If you do plan on trading any frags with anyone, I'd bring a really good cooler to keep them in.

Hmmm...Good point KathyC, I forgot to check that little detail about the weather. I feel like everyone will know everyone except me...time to meet new people! In any case, I'll bring a little cooler then. If there's no trades or that sort I could always stuff it with food...or just dive in the pond and try to catch some fish that way, j/k.

Nothing official is planned, just figured a bunch of people might show up and trade stuff while enjoying the music.

I'll have a bunch of different zoanthids that I will give away or trade.
