metal halide pendant question

is anybody familiar with these pendants. are they any good . how does the light spread(cause im thinkg it must not be able spread out of the circular casing its in .

any thoughts on the product. isit worth it?

I think you're right - I saw one at House of Fins on a freshwater display with plants and tetra's - let that be your indicator.

Joe, lights are one of the most important components of the reef. You dont want anything that is underpowered. If you are going with fish only it will do. For the money there is better though. If you are going with a full blown reef you will fail with these lights. Simply underpowered. Like the others said stick to name brands. In regards to watts, people basically told me to go 250w and up. That will ofcourse depend on the height of your tang. If your tank is over 30" tall you will have to go over 400w. Just a guideline.
