Slidell, LA and NYPDFrogman

Folks,

I just got done watching CNN and crews were finally able to got into Slidell, LA - this is where NYPD Frogman's sister in law llived.

First off, thank god they left town, because it was completey destroyed. Lake Concentrate swelled 18FT and devestated the man-made canal, overan that, and destroyed the town.

I am starting this thread to see what we can do to help - with this specific target in mind.

I would like to start a list of what people are willing to donate, and will see if he eventually responds. OF, if anyone knows his cell phone number etc, to see if there is anything we can do.

I can't imagine nothing would be needed so I'l start:

Money
Clothes (mens and womens)
Baby's cloths - boys and girls (newborn for girls and uyp to 4T for boys)
Food, anything I can get to them.

If you are inclined to help out, please list what you can provide help with and I;'ll keep track. If you want to send money, I will start taking donations via paypal at [email protected] and will keep track of every cent. Don't worry about fees, I'll deal with that.

God help all who are suffering and perished in this disaster.

thanks !!!! it's my future Daughter-in-law she's marrying my stepson Michael
we spoke to her earlier today she was hysterical to say the least they actually showed a picture of her house on CNN and it was completely submerged. they left with the clothes on thier backs (her and her mom) the 3 cats and 2 dogs.
we are kind of in limbo right now. no point in heading down they are safe with relatives in Kentucky and they have no idea when they can get back to the house or if it's still there.
her grandmother is also with them her house is gone for sure she was right on the canal.

my wife is sending down clothes in the AM and we are trying to make arrangements to get them here to the city. I'll keep everyone apprised of the situation. thanks again!!

Please keep us posted - I am going to keep track of all of what can be donated. Please find for us sizes, clothes needed ect. Cash of course I am sure is welcome, so, I'll also keep track of that for anyone who donates.

Jim, I read the article you linked in another thread,

it sounds much worse than the news I've seen on television is reporting.

I'm in for helping out, I'd like to hear from NYPDFrogman and see what is needed most. I'm sure cash could help, but when there is no food to buy then sending food as an example may be better.

as far as shipping food is there an address to send it to and are companies like UPS still operating in the area? I imagine they are having difficulty as everyone else.

what a mess, how do you get the supplies to individuals?

THANKS EVERYONE!!! they are safe and dry now. they have no time table as to when they can back to the house and see what is lost and what isnt. right now they are unable to acccess thier bank accounts and are literally in limbo.
my wife is trying to wire funds to them as I'm typing this.
I have offered to have them stay here at my house but they want to stay close so when they get the OK to get to the house they can get in there ASAP

it is a horrible mess in the NO area.

I think the proper thing to do if you can is to donate to the Red Cross, they seem to be set up for this and are as on top of things as anyone else.

spoke to my daughter in law today

On behave of my future daughter-in-law Brittney and her mother Mickey, her grandmother, we would like to thank everyone for the concerns, prayers and generosity. we compliled a list that is desprately needed. Our house was completyely destroyed and we are left with the clothes on our backs and our pets.

it was easy in Lousianna they just went into the back yard to get them (LOL)

this stuff sounds silly to ask for but it weeks or months before we can get back in to see the damage. This is beyond words for us but it's all we have

I agre, while stuff is good, cash will help too, since they re not there and in Kentucky, I prefer to donate to this cause since I KNOW for sure it's going to good use. Not that I question the use for the red cross, but they have operating expenses too. SO, I'll be sending cash and a host of other things, cloths, etc.

All who sent cash, thanks, I'll be sending it over to NYPD when he gives me the info - so far we have over $250.

Has NYPD contacted anyine with an address?
