skimmer help

hey whats up everyone. i just bought a precision marine protein skimmer with a mag 7 for 50 bux. it must be an old one . i was wondering if anyone one has pix of one installed i think it just might be missing a gate valve but not sure.its a venturi series ,is it suppose to have a gate valve on the drain yes or no? if so then i know how to get it to work. thanks

Why would you need pics when the manual clearly answers your "yes or no" question:

(1) You will need a valve on the drain of your skimmer. For best control, a gate valve is
recommended for water flow from the drain of your skimmer. This component is offered as an option and most Precision Marine dealers offer these. Simply attach with a 1? close nipple.

yeah i understand the gate valve bu not sure on the other valve on the second pipe gping into the skimmer from the mag 7 . the pump goes two 2 inlets on the skimmer . the bottom one has atee thet goes to a shut off valve that is totally wide open. not sure if this is right. please help derm
