Closed Loop??

Alright I'm thinking about getting rid of all my nausty powerheads from in the tank and adding a closed loop to the tank. I was wondering is it neccesary for the closed loop to incorparate a SCWD in it? Or could I just plumb the pump to the tank and just have a T and split off the returns?

Kris, the SCWD is not necessary. I have one on my CL for over a year it works fine.

or just change them for a Tunze, that would be the easiest way.
