i don't like the Seachem tests at all. It sucks fussing w/ the little trays and i've had some bad kits.

Salifert are good, Elos kits are my favorite.

I agree on the Hanna for phosphates

I agree with everyone here.

I use Salifert and Elos.

I learned this the hard way - Just spend the money and get good test kits. IMO, There's no point of testing your water if you're not going to get accurate results, as the results will help you make better decisions as a reefer. And if something does go wrong, then you can't really determine the reason why because of your tests are inaccurate to begin with.

I don't bother testing for phosphates, most are inaccurate (except the Hanna meter)

I just assume my tank is full of phosphates and manage it from there. :)

I totally agree with what has already been said, with one caveat. I don't think you need expensive test kits for ammonia and nitrite, most basic tests are fine for those parameters while cycling.
