What happened 2 FS/FT/WTB section

Why was the fs/ft/wtb section moved so we cant view it from homepage? I liked it better when it was viewable from homepage. If space was the reason consider the best threads of the week is taking double the space cause right below it in lastest topic the same threads r listed there.

It's a little different, just click the marketplace tab on the left hand side of the homepage and it takes you to all sale related forums.

Its not even about clicking one more or two more times on the mouse. I am just saying by moving that section where is not viewable from the homepage all the threads become less visible to the members.

MR was becoming a marketplace. That direction has been changed now. Enjoy the ride!

I agree.
Can we get rid of the this week's greatest thread? If its so great, I'm sure it'll be bumped up many times during the week anyways and therefore seen twice on the main page.
I also prefer seeing the market place on the main page. Seeing everything at once is nice.

I kind of agree with Wes and Ming about "great thread section" being kind of pointless. My reasons are:
1) Who votes them as the great threads? Assuming mods which is fair, what is the cirteria? Because Ive seen people with one post in a thread and it was already in the "great thread section" If we keep it maybe a voting box that we can vote the best threads or have some objective source such as views, posts, or Star rating.

2) Isnt it kind of a self fufilling prophecy? You put a post up there than it gets extra attention, exposure etc. Hence becomes "the great thread"

Oh and I can see how the market place thing can ruin the spread of knowledge but I definitly miss my usual quick stroll from head to toe of the forums, in the old perfect format

I agree with the rest of the group on the "greatest Threads" issue and if you do keep it, Just modify how it becomes a greatest thread like by how many replies.

I can not be more thrilled to have the marketplace off the home page completely. As I've said many times, the only place that foregrounds sales on the front page is the Pennysaver, and I'd like to think MR is a little more than that.

While the Marketplace aspect of the site is important, it was rapidly becoming "the site" and that IMO is very much not a good thing. A neat and tidy, easy to navigate Marketplace one click from the Homepage seems to me a vast improvement.

Regarding "Weeks Best Threads" I don't think it is fully functional right now, and if you don't like it, just keep it closed. The intent as I understand it, is to attempt to keep threads with actual content from getting buried in a matter of minutes-- which is in fact the reality.

i see the vendor sales are still on the main page. Can we replace the vendor sales w/ the member sales? Makes the website seem less commercial and more like a club and vendors get more space. Or perhaps remove all sales threads AND this weeks best threads from the main page?

None of this week's greatest threads even have a star rating. Perhaps it would be cooler if people actually voted on the greatest threads.
