Auto Top Off - Help with breaking siphon

Hi gang, I put an autotop on my sump a few months ago. Everything was working fine, then I switched containers and now i constantly have the top-off running until the siphon broken. Here is the the auto top off device and pump is working fine, its after it gets started, and the pump stops, it keeps drawing water. What can I do, should the container be higher than the sump? Lower? should the pipe for the autofeed, be submersed. I lower the container, but still same problem.

That happens if the return tube is touching the water perhaps?Others will chime in.I have the Tunze.Worry free.

i have a jbj. i have to make sure that the desired water level in the sump is not high enough to touch the tube coming from the reservoir. if that happens simply move the tube coming from the reservoir higher than the desired water level. hopefully that applies to your system

Make sure the output to your tank is not submerged in water. Keep it above and let it drip the top off in.

I have the JBJ and had the same issue. Make sure that the tube from the reservoir doesnt touch the water.

the container MUST be lower then the sump inlet for the top off if you are using a electric pump with floats. If you are using a gravity fed top off the container the container MUST be higher then the sump and you should be fine.
