Beach Walk

I was walking the beach and there was some cool looking seaweed it was red looked like roots see pic this is not it but it looked like it. Is it safe to use local seaweed in refugerim or feed it to tangs?? will it live in our tanks? has anyone tryed it??

I asked Dom (Domboski) about this same algae yesterday and he said it's fine in our reef tanks and will live.
Not sure about your other question on whether Tangs will eat it or not.

You could try feeding them after you have had it in your fuge for a bit.

It might, or it might not.
It looks like mine a bit:

And mine is almost (if not at all is gone from my tank by now. It didn't grow a bit.

Your lighting is too strong. Put that piece of algae (although almost dead) under 6700K lighting. It will grow like crazy. The ends will appear to be green / white as it grows.
