tank crash...*sigh

guess we all go thru 'em...something went plewwy with my skimmer and it leaked MUCHO AGUA :banghead: on the floor and drained good part of my tank water:grumpy: ...lost 2 corals maybe 3(birdsnest, (sorry steve), candy canes (sorry walter) ...gotta admit....after this week, i was starting losing the "faith"

don't lose your drive. be happy your first crash was as mild as it was (not trying to downplay your loss - but disasters with the tank take all forms). also - from experience - don't count a coral as 'lost' until you give it a week or so to bounce back - these things are really amazing sometimes....even if they were out of water give them a little tlc and part might be able to pull through and you can cut off the rest. hang in there!

if you need ANYTHING let us know. we have so much extra tank crap lying around...ugh. or a house for anything - just call.

That sucks....just make everything as fool proof as you can. Take time w/ your tank, hug her ask her what her needs are, then take her shopping, which luckily makes us both happy (corals).

Mike sorry to hear about that. I went through a similiar situation with the skimmer and going crazy. Just take your time and everything will be ok, if you need help with anything or a temporary home just say the word.

You could also use this as an excuse to upgrade. Which is what i would do

When I first started my tank I made a mistake in the plumbing and it cost me $500 to replace two submerged (external) pressure pumps

im running the c-clone hang on filter i got from the 18g and a triton skimmer (ho) that, i had to put together from just a small picture...and i really have limited knowledge on its funcuntionality...so both r running until i can figure out why the skimmer is flooding out...maybe the new mag 7 i bought for it, i think it was a mag 5 it ran on previously, but i hooked that 1 back up and it did the same flooding with the 5 so im chasing my tail. AND I HAVE MAD LOTS AND LOTS OF SALT WATER...UHHHG

i dont think its the skimmer...because it was working from the display tank...but...as soon as i moved it to the new fuge/sump its been somehow to high or low...i dont kno but ill get david to chk it out im prob doing something stupid wrong.

The head pressure from the skimmer when it was hung on the back of the tank verses when it's hung on the sump may be your problem. It will skim so much it basically bubbles the water out of the cup and it keeps skimming cause the pump is too powerful I made this mistake on my AquaC Pro. Either dial down the pump or get a bigger skimmer to handle the pump (assuming this is the issue).

well...its morning, and all seems quiet in Neverland...althought a few more pirates have bitten the dust but all my frogs and zoo's seem to be ok lost the monti i got from rich, all thats left on that rock r the zoos...sorry bro, and some gsp's i got from david.
