I went to check out a friends tank he said he had an algee problem on the glass when I looked at the tank I was in shock I cant beleave how much Aiptasia it was on everything the sand was covered on all the corals on the intake in the sump I was in shock he didnt understand why his corals were not doing well. Is there any way to fix this?? He bought a butterfly fish I told him I think he needs a school of butterfly fish.....

There's a risk when adding butterflys but copperbands are supposed to be the best at eating those.I took a chance on one but only had him for one day and not eating yet.Some people had luck with them and some did not.

Stay away from copperband butterfly's, There VERY picky eaters and sometimes just die for no apparent reason. In my opinion they only belong in the ocean. Just my opinion though.

I agree!!! It's my opinion as well.

I do have an auriga butterfly that shreds aiptasia. he also picks at sps and the ocaional acan polyp. To keep an aiptaisa free tank this is worth it to me.
Yesterday I took a rock from my sump with aiptasia on it and put it in the tank to see what the auriga would do. he found it right away and ate the aiptasia immedialty :) You need a large tank for butterflys, please don't go out and get one if you have a smaller tank.
