Stay away from Animal Pantry in Staten Island

I was in Animal pantry in Staten Island today. I normally don't shop in this store but a friend of mine wanted to go. There was a label on one of the tanks that said Pom Pon Crabs $12.99. I went to go find the kid working the fish room, and he was a little punk kid, that couldnt get off the phone with his girlfriend, and had no interest in trying to help me. The tank was a 10 gallon tank with a visible fire shrimp, & about 6 cleaner shrimps. The kid starts to throw around all the live rock in the tank, had no regard for any life in that tank. After 15 seconds, looked up at me and said "It's not in here", closed the tank and walked away. Didn't even see if myself or my friend wanted anything else. They also had a lot of dead fish in their tanks that were definitely there for more then a day. Stay away from this store!

Been there and I hate to talk about LFS but that one sucks! Its a good place if you need dog or cat food but as far as fish and inverts there horrible.

I normally wouldn't buy anything from them, but I have been looking for Pom Pom crabs for a while, and $12.99 is a good deal...if they live

Have you tried animal kingdom on Staten Island? There price's aren't the best but they do have nice stuff and they take care of there livestock.

I went there once seen a nice mushroom rock was gona buy it and the kid there told me that the price was for each mushroom and he would scrape off as many as I wanted....... I told him I wanted NONE and left,,,,
I would wait for lenny718's store to open I sure they will have them with lots of othere top notch stuff.......

Animal Kingdom is cool. They know there stuff in there, but they don't get pom poms in a lot. I frequent Animals & Things in Woodbridge on Rt 1 & 9. If you've never been there its 10 minutes off the outerbridge by the woodbridge mall. The entrance for it is in the PC Richards parking lot. They have usually have a decent selection of fish, and they have some nice corals at times.
