How do u catch a bristle worm

i seem to have one or two and would like the get it or them out any ideas on how i can either trap them.

Don't feed the tank for a day, and at night put out a solid kind of food (like a shrimp..uncooked) in an open area of the sandbed and lure them out into the open and then pick them up with tweezers.

Why do you want to get rid of them? They are great detritus eaters!

Wrasses eat them.A six line should do.

They aren't really bad. However, they make traps for them, or you could make your own.

Make sure its out in the open like Kathy said. They can strech really long. But like she also said they good for detritus matter.

Don't try to catch it with your hand. I had rash for a week from brushing on one. It itches badly.
I have a coral banded shrimp that eats them, but for the most part I leave them in there as there are great scavengers.

well i was just wondering just in case i need to get ride of it because i put in a peppermint shimp over a week ago and havent seen him since. i do have a lot of rock but no sand bed so i am not sure if my pepermint is dead. i also saw the of my hermit crab legs floating around on the bottom of my tank and didnt know if that was the culprit

I don't think your bristle worm is fast enough to catch a peppermint shrimp. They are scavengers and they have a bad rep because they are caught eating the carcasses of dead fish and etc. but that is what they do eat what is already dead or dying and detritus.
When I first joined the hobby I wanted nothing to do with them because of the way they looked and the fact I always caught them eating something that died but as time has passed I hold them up there with cleaner shrimps.

The hermits legs you see floating around are probably from the hermits molting, they do that .

Peppermints are great at hiding, i put a couple of peps in my old tank and didnt see them for a month! Take it slow, the bristles definately didnt eat your peppermints.
