Wow thats a hefty amount of fish you tried in a 55g I would cut back a little. Remember, you have to take into account the needs of the fish such as how much room its needs for its life style and for when it hits its mature age. A yellow tang such really be in a 72/75 gallon or higher tank and depending on the anthias your looking at 100 gallon or higher. Also since your keeping live corals you have to find out if the fish is reef safe as well. Just some things to keep in mind when you look at purchasing a fish. Since you have corals what type of lighting do you have.

We can recommend all we want but its really up to you to do the research for proper housing for diferent species. Is a 55gallon what you want to stay with or do you plan on going bigger soon. Some questions to ask yourself. Again you also have to factor in the fact that you have corals also. Plenty small beautiful angels will work with a 55 but they might devastate your reef as well. Because there are so many species that would do well in a 55g provided the right conditions are meet we really cant recommend any one particular fish. Personally Yellow Fin Damsels. I like them they are very hardy but when they get older they can be real jerks to other tank mates. Check out www.liveaquaria.com. Its a good quick source of info on different species. Also always try to crossreference any information you reseach if possible. There is also a fish profile forum located somewhere here that has good information as well.

Really? What kind of fish do you reccommend for a 55g tank then. I'm definitely getting rid of the yellow tang, wrasse and Koran angel.

Why would you get rid of the Wrasse? He should be fine in the tank (if it has a cover as wrasses are prone to jumping).

The hippo, Koran & YT should be re-homed IMO.

As George mentioned, it is a matter of personal choice and researching first on what fish you might add. Take your time. Perhaps add some more cured rock to your tank and let it settle in for a bit longer before adding more fish.

There is also a fish profile forum located somewhere here that has good information as well. 08-23-2008 06:57 PM

It is located on the Blue Bar on the Home Page under 'Reef Database'.

Kathy doesnt the clown wrasse need about 100G. I thought it did.

Yes that would be true, IF he had a 'clown wrasse' but he doesn't appear to. Another case of referring to fish by unscientific names :(
From the pics he posted he has either this fish or one very similar to it which will be fine in a 55g. So that guy should be a 'keeper' for him :)

as opposed to this guy..a Coris gaimard, also called a clown wrasse, which would be miserable in a 55g.
(the pic is of mine :)
