I do. The online deals you get aren't deals after you get hit with LA's etc shipping prices. They are almost the exact same as the prices everyone complains are too high from LFS's and Vendors.

If you're going to buy online from an online warehouse buy from one of the sponsors that sells livestock. Support the people who support MR.

I have had a really bad experience with a new online aquarium shop named expertaquatics.com.

Sorry for your experience.. But I guess they weren't experts after all.. Try the vendors here they can show you their websites if you prefer to do the online thing..

the only problem I have with buying from vendors from MR is first there is no guarantee. Second, if I order from lets say thatfishplace shipping is only 34.99 which includes fuel and boxing fees and when you order you can call them and they will tell you how long the fish that you are getting has been at the warehouse, etc. You also get a 14 day guarantee. For example, I bought a Purple Tang from thatfishplace the tang at the time was 99.99 plus the 34.99 to ship so that is 135. When I spoke to a few vendors they wanted I believe 165 plus shipping and i never was able to see the fish they would get me and what the vendor told me was when they get it they hold it for a day then ship it. So I never get to see the fish from either the MR vendor and thatfishplace so I went with the cheaper one with a guarantee. Wouldn't you?

I go to vendors sponsors and my LFS for dry goods and livestock before I go to non sponsors and huge chains. I prefer to support the people who support the site. That is my decision. My LFS is a local store of which I am also a big supporter of local stores before larger stores. That is my decision, I don't like shipping livestock. I don't think it's fair to the animal after being in transit so many times already I feel the last trip to my tank should be a peaceful one compared to the way UPS and FED EX throw packages around.
