How many of you guys are using T5/HO's for SPS growth in their tanks?What brand and what temps?I use Geissman Aquablue plus and the actinics.

I use (Giesemann 54W Actinic Plus, UVL Super Actinic, UVL Aquasun, ATI aquablue, UVL aquasun, ATI aquablue, UVL super actinic,Giesemann 54W Actinic Plus bulbs(In that order) for my 54w 8 bulb nova extreme.

i can never get the right color from my canon PnS...either too blue or too white...but i can say its more on the blue side....

this pic is a little closer to realtime...but needs a tad more blue...this pic was used with white balance...

UVL Super Actinics, ATI Aquablue Special, ATI Procolor

And although I love the color I am getting, I am ready for a new look.

54 w Geisemann Actinic +, ATI Aquablue Special , Geisemann Pure Actinic, and Geisemann Actinic + in that order. I do have some SPS ..but they grow rather slow except the Ora Green Birdsnest. I have a blue tip acro...only grew about 1" in a month.

The green birdsnest colony is a fast grower but the others are rather slow that's why I want to up it to MH.The downside is the heat and the electric bills.

zanymaster...try using more lower kelvin bulbs..it should help growth....

yea 10k is good...depends if your using t5 or MH
before i changed my mh bulbs to phonix 14's....i used the stock current 10k's..its yellow even with 4 t5 supplements but it sure grew my sps colonies well...

some people use 10k to grow out thier frags and then change to higher k bulbs to get better color on the colonies

Well,I'm using the Geissman 11k T5/HO bulbs only with my 5 bulb array of those and two actinics.No MH here.

that should be pretty good.....might want to look at your alk/mag/cal levels..
but maybe add a GE 6500k in there for crazier growth:tongue1:

gies makes a 6k bulbs also, but a real yellow color
i ran 2 gies aquablue plus, 2 antic plus and 2 ge 10k's on mine had great growth and color
