Siphon Breaking

I want to see if anyone has ever had much trouble with their overflow siphon breaking due to bubbles building up or other reason.

Leave out a siphon that breaks with a power outage due to the unit not having a separate compatment that maintains the siphon.

If you built your own over flow box, maybe you left out something. If you are using a standard over flow box, there could be 2 causes for the bubble buildup.
1. your return pump returns water up too slowly, if there is not enough flow in the U-tube, it could break the siphon;

2. This one happened to me, I had algae build up on the u-tube and that somehow trapped a lot of air in the tube.

You really gotta watch out for these as the land lord can hit you up for a bunch of money for apartment damages.

i think this can be a problem for all overflow boxes.

You should have your tank drilled and than you have no worries.
