I know a few members here have purchased the hanna PO4 meter. Are you guys happy that you bought it? Do you find indispensable?

I'm ready to lay down $200 for one, just want to make sure it's worth it. Otherwise there's a nice 18v Makita LIon Drill I've got my eyes on.

well, if you want to save some money up front I can recommend the Elos PO4 kit, it about matched the Hanna every time I tested it.

I have the Makita drill and driver set it rocks. I never want to use my Dewalts again.

Tell me about it, my cabinet guy came over with it :inlove:. Just so happens that my Dewalt finally crapped out after 10 years, I just bought 2 batteries for it 6 months ago:irked:. I can't believe how light the makita is.

Buy the drill pick up my tester and try it first to see if you like it

Frank, thanks, sending PM.

Meter is on sale at the Drs. for $168 - save a few more bucks and get both :P

Jim, that's where I planned to order it from, by the time you add the reagent and shipping it's like $215. I love the way you think:lol:

Instructions are to zero out the meter with every use by placing the vial with tank water into the unit. Then that same vial is used with the reagent to test the Po4 level.

Trick is to keep the vial spotless meaning no fingerprints. That would skew the readings all the time.

I tested my hanna against an elos kit and a D&D kit. it was always inline with the regent kits, so I made the assumption that my hanna meter was not fluctuating by +-4 points. that would be quite a bit and make it almost useless.

hanna meter = elos test kit? hmm interesting...

I don't know why you would find that interesting, I told you about the Elos kit.

For me personally, If I can get a reliable, easy to use digital meter thats what I want. I find performing titrations and color comparisons tedious.

The easier something is to use and perform the more likely I am to keep up with it, so I try to design my system and it's upkeep around those principals.
