Can I use a 400 watt balast with a 250 pendant?

I just got a custom pendant and I was told my ballastc (400w coralvue) is too strong for a 250 pendant. Anyone have any experience with this?

Yes this will be excellent for bringing out the blacks on the ceiling above the tank.. Also gives a nice fire place effect before it drop into your tank causing an even bigger fire in about 15 minutes,,,,, lol...

IceCap has a 250/400 pendant that is interchangeable. I wouldn't trust a DIY pendant.
