I had the same problem on a previous tank. I upgraded from a 55 to a 75 gallon tank, but the stand was an 1 1/2 inches short. What I did was add a strip of hardwood to the back edge of the stand, using screws and wood glue to hold it in place.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. What do you guys think about getting a granite top that is 20x20? The condominium complex that I live in is still in construction. I maybe able to get a piece of scrap pretty cheap or trade for beer:)
I think a color like this might look cool.

The right size would work perfectly... Also, see if they can finish the edges for you...
