Making a Sump/Refug

I have a question about how far should the baffles be apart from each other when your putting in the bubble trap. Do they need to be exactly the same distance or would it better if they where seperated by different distances.

If looked at the site and I don't see an answer to what I'm asking. That site and other sites have the baffles the same distance apart. I've place the middle one a little to far over and want to put the 3rd one a little closer, so I would lose space in the refug.

They dont need to be the same distance apart

how much of a difference in spacing are we talking about? if just a fraction of an inch, I don't think it would matter

The farther apart the baffles are, the longer contact time for micro-bubbles to dissipate. If your running a medium to high flow thru the sump, you would want the baffles placed 2+ inches apart. But they do not need to be evenly spaced IMO.

Right now the the middle baffles is 3" from the baffle where the water is coming in from the tank. I only wanted to space it about 1"-2" apart but glued it in a little to far over. I want to place the 3rd baffle about 1" apart from the 2nd one. I not sure that it will be a problem but just want to be sure.
