I set up a new tank over the past few days, It is a 72bowfront. So far I have RO/DI Water Mixed With Tropic Marin Pro Reef. 60# of Live Sand, 40# of Pink Fiji Sand, 40# of Live Rock, 80# of Dead Rock(AND I MEAN DEAD- SITTING IN GARAGE DRY FOR 2 YEARS) So now that you know what in the tank I have a question.
This is my first skimmer experience, and unfortunately I think I chose a skimmer that is difficult to dial in(Aqua C EV180) so i dont know if i have it set up right, Because I Really Dont know what to expect out of it.
I completed filling last night about 2:00am And started the system up.
The skimmer is making lots of bubbles below the collection cup but not collecting anything. Is this normal, Because I dont have any Bio Load Yet
Im sure this question is silly to most experienced skimmer operators but i just dont know much about them. Any one who owns this skimmer and has any advice about adjusting or quieting this f***ink thing down. I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

if you just started things up don't use the skimmer for a while. It's better to leave the water on the dirty side to buildup the bioload.

Get things going, test the water and when you reach levels of ammonia and nitrates, etc then you can get some livestock in there. The skimmer won't be necessary for a little while. I had the ev-180, good choice, not difficult to dial-in, just need lots of patience. Good luck with it.
