Which one of these bulbs will give a nice color used on a coralvue ballast. I'm also using vho actinic suppliment and am looking for some more blue with a good growth. I know they can't be compared to 10k for growth. Looking to color up my corals some more.[

If you have the vho actinics I would go with the 12k.. Without actinics I would go with 14k or ushio.. I'm about to switch to 14k or another brand for a 20k bulb.. I used the 12k and was happy with the colors for blue purple and green acros... Reds and yellows got lost with this bulb(12k)... They just didn't pop like the other colors did... In terms of bulb and ballast match If your going with coralvuebulb I would try to stay with coralvue ballast..

Daceman, it may not apply to your's. I have an older coralvue tar ballast, and it will not burn Ushio bulbs. Learned the hard way last year when I tried to replace the original Ushio bulbs. Ended up having to purchase XM 10K, this time I replaced them with Reflux with which I am very happy with.
