Alright- after removing a fire worm from my tank a couple of weeks ago it seems like I have 2 more bristle worms! All they do is taunt me by sticking out of the rock an inch or two- then quickly going back when I try to suck them out!

My question is- I know what a fire worm looks like (very thick white bristles, red body), but how can I tell if these are just normal bristle worms? They aren't as 'spikey', and their bodies are a lighter, pinkish color. I haven't seen them travel around my rock (which is how I sucked out the fire worm) yet- they mostly stay in the rock work.

I have seen one grab a big piece of macro algae, and bring it back to its hole with it- strange. I also went digging around its hold with my pair of 12" long tweezers- but the only thing I grabbed was a very thick, spongy green mass.

Should I be worried- or do these sound like normal bristleworms?

Thanks!

:) I'm ashamed to tell you how many bristle worms
I killed back in the days people thought they were bad :(
I still feel guilty for making bristle worm ice cubes
