Convert old Korallin calcuim reactor

I have the old korallin calcuim reactor 1502
It has the bottom lid to replace the media
I want to install a ph probe but don't know how ?
Does anyone else have this reactor and have any suggestings ?
I bought this from a MR person and just having trouble having it work.
It made some weird noise the other day and and noticed my co2 going back into my sump. I shut off and don't know what to do.
I see marine depot sells a check valve, is it a must ?

I have both the 1502 and the 3002 korallin reactor
You can get a lid for the reactor from marinedepot to hold the PH probe, but its easier to have it drip into a cup over your sump and put the probe in there.
a "weird noise" doesn't help me troubleshoot anything, and I don't know why co2 would be going into your sump. A check valve should be on the reactor to make sure co2 flows only into the reactor and water doesn't flow out when the co2 tank is disconnected.

thanks Ming but my lid is glued to the cylinder. The bottom is the part to unscrew to take out the media ? Do you have a pic to show me how to drip into a cup because the guy that sold me has this platic cube like when you buy fish at the pet store. It has holes in it that drip into my sump. I realy dont have room for it because of my set up.
The noise was the motor and I looked and saw some water missing from the cylinder. then saw the bubble counter pouring out co2 back into the tank. I shut off and saw my ph drop to 7.5 but went back up to 8.2 in 4 mins. I have to try to take a pic later

it should be the lid that unscrews, not the bottom. You sure you don't have it upside down?
Theres not much to show in a pic, its a tube dripping into any type of container (even a take out container will work) so long as it can hold water and keep the PH probe submerged and it will overflow into the sump.
The co2 should be grinded up by the reactor pump and you should never see the co2. I'm thinking either the co2 is coming out too fast or the effluent isn't flowing out fast enough.

Ming the old one has the screws on the bottom and the new ones are on the top as I see at marine depot.Everthing else looks the same. any pics of your set up.

here are some pics of mine notice the second picture is just a measuring cup the probe sits in it can be anything when the efluent fills the cup it overflows into a very turbulent section of my sump to help blow of the co2 . If you are getting a space of air in the reactor you either have too much co2 going in or not enough efluent (drips) coming out . Just to give you an idea I have 20 bubbles of co2 and 85 drops of efluent per minute on a 125 reef with a lot of coraline plenty of sps and lots of lps. The starting point koralin recomends I think was 10 co2 and 40 drops per minute

Thanks, I Just Got It Going Last Night. Emmanuel You Have The Newer Model Because My Screws Are On The Bottom. They Sell A Lid That Has A Hole For Your Ph Prob. I Just Dont Know If They Can Convert My Old Model. Does Your Ph Drop Because I Seen Mine Drop Last Night Because I Am Now Not Doing The 2 Part. Should I Buff My Ro Water Now ? How Long Before I See Results From This Reactor ?

The they sell also suppose to attach all the fittings to attach the pump, inlet, and outlet. If you can fit all these things, then you should be able to flip your reactor upside down and have the lip on top. :lol2: otherwise, it probably won't work.
The PH always drops a bit at night with or without the reactor. Its natural for your tank water to drop at night because corals release co2 at night. The PH should still stay within reason. My tank PH is usually around 8.4 at night and 8.2 in the morning. You should see results from the reactor within a day after setting your bubbles/drips and then test your water to see if you're under dosing or over dosing and adjust from there.

Ming, are you getting any leaks from the lid. I have same set up with ph lid and something seems to be leaking .. is this normal... it wasn't happening before.
Any help would be great ...

I am not getting any leaks, but there should be an O ring which prevents any leaks.

Anyone Ever Heard Of A Pump Instead Of Siphon The Water, I Think Thats The Problem I Am Having

you were trying to siphon the water into the reactor???
I think that's probably the problem too then. I T'ed off my return pump to pump water into my reactor
