I have mines set up for 2 days now, it seem it is making this hum noise?

Is this normal for the break in also have not been able to skim anything yet?

A little disappointed.

relax usually takes a good week before skimmers start working properly and as for the noise is it just air maybe a pump vibrating?

Bud, I just got the OCT extreme 160 and love it. Do the mesh mod. Its very tempermental and wont start unless its perfect, but once you get it done right its amazing. IMO its better than the overpriced ATI (better control of gatevalve, silencer, much cheaper, same pump).

Your going to have to blow into the airline to get it started in the sump but it works amazing once you do this. There is a bit more noise but still pretty quiet compared to almost all other skimmers IMO

Is definely the pump vibrating, are you guys setting it straight or a little crooked? to silent this thing down. The pump isn't touching anything.

I have not done the mesh yet, as I want to see the result with the pin first. So far nothing but bubbles.

Bud the mesh makes A HUGE DIFFERENCE (night and day). I know what your saying but you mine is kicking A$@ pulling some of the best foam ive ever had, and ive damn nere every reasonably priced skimmer
