Fluorescents tend to white wash colors. Where as incandescent may tend to yellow saturate. Its hard to really say because of the different variety of bulbs out on the market now. What bulbs do you have in both rooms?

If you are finding that you are reading different results under different types of fluorescent lighting, why not read them near a window OR read them near your tank lighting (which is supposed to be duplicating natural sunlight anyway) ?:)

Duke, watts dont mean jack. Its the kelvin rating of the bulb. I have a incandesent 75w bulb soft white that looks excatly like my 19w pc bulb that equals 75w and its softwhite. I have a 23w pc bulb for my back yard that is supposed to be bright white and it has a slight blue tint. If your tuning cars you would know what i am talking about.

And just to make myself clear, most kitchen lights that have a standard circuline flourescent or tubes, are rated at about 8K-9K which puts it in the blue range. Most people who have a standard light fixture for their lets say bedroom with your normal 100w bulb is typically softwhite which is in the 2,7K range.
