flow through a refugium

Hello Everyone,
I just set a 7 gallon fuge that dumps water into my return of my sump. I was just wondering what kind of flow I should have. for the water feeding the fuge I just spilt my 1" overflow line and put in a 1" x 1" x 1/2" "T" and ran the 1/2" hose into the fuge. currently there is a very slow flow.

If you don't have macro in there,the flow should not be an issue.My 2 cents.

You don't want a ton of flow through a macro fuge; the algae needs time to absorb the nutrients. Start with what you have. If nuisance algae starts to get a foot-hold then increase the flow a little.
