slow process for sure, but were hvin fun just whatching the shrimp and crab right now. Man when I have fish and coral I will be stuck to the tank

I hear you I watch my tank daily. When I get up, during the day, and before I go to bed. Thankfully I get a lot of enjoyment out of it considering the time, effort and money.

I upgraded from a nano so had a few fish that were getting transfered and few corals and inverts. But for the fish I planned and researched what I was going to have in the tank very extensively. I even went to the LFS to study them(or just waste time :shhh:). The fish I got a little over a month ago are in QT at the momement. If you are not going to QT your fish(not recomended) then I think the it best that you don't add any corals till all your fish are in and you don't bring any nasties in. You cannot use copper ever in a future reef tank but you could in theory use hyposalinity. If you had no inverts or corals. Once the fish are stable then start thinking about corals. If you use QT then just make sure your tank is stable before stocking. Adding your fish from small peaceful to larger aggressive is best.

I used the same idea for coral, though my plan has shifted a bit since the tank started I have a pretty good idea of how I want my reef to look. Corals should be added after your tank is very stable(nems too) and SPS I think should be last as they are more sensitive then some.

I like to plan things so it is one of my stronger suits there are lots of people who have more experience then I though. I don't know what have read or know so just giving my ideas. There are certainly lots of other ways to do things.
